1.1 Latar Belakang
Dalam realita kehidupan bermasyarakat, kita menyadari bahwa ada begitu beragam masyarakat dengan berbagai latar belakang kehidupan sosialnya. Sebagian orang menganggap bahwa masyarakat hanya terbagi menjadi masyarakat putih dan hitam, yang putih sudah jelas merupakan masyarakat dari golongan baik-baik dan terpelajar, sedangkan yang hitam merupakan sampah masyarakat disebabkan oleh pelanggaran-pelanggaran dan penyimpangan yang dibuatnya. ...view middle of the document...

Seseorang yang menderita konflik batin karena perbedaan identitas diri yang bertentangan dengan identitas sosial sehingga mengubah karakteristik dirinya disebut dengan Transgender. Sedangkan Biseksual memiliki kecenderungan untuk menyukai pria maupun perempuan secara bersamaan.
Tidak semua LGBT itu berasal dari lahir tetapi ada faktor-faktor lain yang mempengaruhinya seperti faktor lingkungan. Lesbian adalah orientasi seksual seorang perempuan yang hanya mempunyai hubungan antara perempuan dengan perempuan. Gay adalah orientasi Seksual seorang Pria yang hanya Mempunyai Hasrat Sesama Pria. Kaum gay masih tetap merasa dan menganggap dirinya sebagai laki-laki. Dalam mewujudkan seksualitasnya, ada yang bertindak sebagai pihak pasif (seperti peran perempuan dalam hubungan seksual) dan ada yang bertindak sebagai pihak aktif (seperti peran laki-laki), tetapi masing-masing tetap menganggap diri sebagai laki-laki, baik secara fisik maupun psikis. Biseksual adalah orientasi seksual seorang pria/wanita memiliki kecenderungan untuk menyukai pria maupun perempuan secara bersamaan. Dan transjender adalah orientasi seksual seorang pria/wanita dengan mengidentifikasi dirinya menyerupai pria/wanita yang menderita konflik batin karena perbedaan identitas diri yang bertentangan dengan identitas sosial sehingga mengubah karakteristik dirinya.
Pada lingkungan kebudayaan yang relatif modern, keberadaan kaum homoseksual masih ditolak oleh sebagian besar masyarakat sehingga eksistensinya berkembang secara sembunyi-sembunyi. Gadpaille (1989) menyatakan bahwa pada masa sekarang masyarakat modern cenderung bersikap negatif terhadap aktivitas erotik antar sesama jenis kelamin. Pandangan negatif mengenai homoseksual inilah yang menyebabkan homoseksual cenderung tidak diterima masyarakat, rentan mengalami diskriminasi, cemoohan serta sanksi-sanksi sosial lainnya. Sanksi sosial yang diberikan masyarakat pada umumnya beragam, mulai dari cemoohan, penganiayaan, hingga hukuman mati seperti yang pernah terjadi pada negara-negara di barat. Penolakan serta diskriminasi masyarakat terhadap kaum homoseksual yang berupa tuntutan untuk menjadi heteroseksual dalam seluruh aspek kehidupan melatarbelakangi keputusan sebagian kaum homoseksual untuk tetap menyembunyikan keadaan orientasi seksualnya dari masyarakat sehingga orang-orang yang memiliki orientasi homoseksual memilih untuk menutupi orientasi seksualnya baik secara sosial, adat dan hukum. Sejumlah negara keberatan terhadap perilaku homoseksual sebagian besar adalah karena alasan keagamaan.

2.2 LGBT Di Indonesia
Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara yang sebagian besar masyarakatnya keberatan terhadap perilaku LGBT.
