A leader is a person who leads others. A leader is put in place to share a vision, drive others, show commitment, and use the skills and expertise to lead others to a common goal. Leaders also see problems that need to be fixed or a series of goals that need to be achieved in order to succeed. Leaders need to have certain traits some people are born with these traits while others develop the traits over time (Yukl, 2013). Leaders are inspiring and one particularly has inspired me to be a better leader.

As a transformational leader, the leader and the followers motivate one another to advance. It is a team effort and as the leader it is important to transform through example, setting challenges and working as a team to benefit the organization. Because of his great personality he is a great motivational speaker, and communicates well with others (Yukl, 2013). I too, like Granger Cobb motivate my team and lead them towards a goal which is successful care of seniors.
Believing in myself and making risky decisions has been something that I have struggled with. It is important to be a leader that is innovative and creative as well as able to make crucial yet risky decisions. I have to remember that fixing the issues is more important than pointing out who caused the problem. I follow Cobbs example by making decisions and working through the consequences. Especially when rent for a resident needs to be decreased and the loss is greater than the profit yet someone was helped...
