Research Paper on Leadership
Leadership is a quality which cannot be acquired by any person from the other but it can be acquired by self-determination of a person. Leadership is to make a difference, to create a positive change; providing the impetus that creates an atmosphere of change that improves the world, or at least the small part of the world around us. Leading is establishing direction and influencing others to follow that direction. Leaders are individuals who, by their actions, facilitate the movement of a group of people towards a common or shared goal. Leadership is an influential process.

Leadership, on the other hand, depends on the organic structure of the personality which includes experience, skill, responsibility, intelligence, power of organizing people and social interaction. Leadership is an indispensable activity, which every leader has tap perform for directing the people, working under him. It is the ability of the Leader to induce subordinates to work with confidence and zeal. In other words "Leadership is the process by which an leader imaginatively directs, guides and influence the work of others in choosing and attaining specified goals by mediating between the individuals and the organization in such as manner, that both will obtain maximum satisfaction (Singh, 2011)
Leadership Ideas and Philosophies
A leader has to be a visionary because it takes a lot for someone to be able to change the world into what they think is correct. True leaders understand that success does not depend the titles or positions in which they are, but depends on the values they uphold and the choices they make on a daily basis. Leadership is not achieved through technical expertise, but rather is based on a relationship with the followers. Below are the insights which I think are necessary to be a great supervisor and a good leader (Stark, 2012).
1. Acknowledge that the world is rapidly changing.
We can decide that whether we are going to help create change and learn from it or try resisting the change. These days, economy is changing rapidly on a daily basis and it requires a change in order to make sure that everything is going on track as everyone wanted. Managers and employees must get themselves out of the comfort zones, whatever they may be to make sure that their organization survives the economy and is on top. Change is very important to keep an organization in the top position.
2. Focus on opportunities, not on what you cannot change
It is waste of time and effort to think of something that we cannot change; rather we need to concentrate on our abilities. We must think of what we can do and how well we can do it. We cannot have our destiny in somebody else's hands and let then decide what we are going to do next or let them decide our responsibilities and abilities. We must know our strengths, abilities and take responsibilities. There is a power in responsibility which makes him/her unique from others.
3. Lead with heart and head.
We must care for the feelings of others. We can't just hurt people and expect them to do the job. For example if a manager says that he don't care about the feelings/emotions of his team/employees and when he says that they have a job that is to be done, no one really show interest in getting that job done. In fact, everything about motivation and the desire to do good work is based on a feeling. If we do not consider people’s feelings, it is impossible to be an effective leader.
4. Reach out to people who have different perspectives.
There is no challenge in communicating with people who...
