Big companies have great ideas as the basis of their foundations. An idea can be a random thought of a quick plan, but a great idea comes from right approach to keen observation and broad vision. When we say idea, first thought prompts in, is a general snapshot/overview of the scenario around the object we are thinking about, and this thinking process involves identification, observation and planning (What? McGregor’s approach, contingency theories, Theory x and theory y, Feidler’s model, hersey/Blanchard theory and so on. Success or failure, they provided the analysts and theorists the platform to define and describe a leader through their decision making and application. Great leaders are pioneers for big businesses.
This is a very important term in the human resource management. It is a characteristic which encourages the employee to reach a goal and directs them towards it. It is the force that drives them. It might also act as a reinforcement. It is why you act in a particular manner. This is why the employee puts in effort to achieve what he has to. This is where the executive needs to come in and use his leadership qualities and motivate the employees.

This is what Reliance had in times of Mr. Dhirubhai Ambani and continues till today. Why he is valued and known for being a great leader is because he knew human nature to such an extent that he kept open perceptions. Different employees have different needs , which if known, helps making decisions easy. I also do feel that these characteristics should be possessed by both parties: manager and subordinate. The main task of being a leader is to motivate others.
There are 2 types of motivation:
This is the type of motivation which comes from the inner thinking of the individual. The driving force is his self interest or the task fulfillment. He does not need outer pressure to get his work done. It mainly deals with working four your own happiness and pleasure rather than a materialistic reward. There is a willingness involved and they put in efforts to improve themselves.
This is opposite to intrinsic. Here the individual works for a material reward. This is an external factor affecting the individual. They may be monetary rewards, rank, marks, demotion etc. \it is considered that competition is an extrinsic factor as the individual wants to win and outrun others, making them lose. Not just get the reward which is intrinsic.
In Reliance, the executives of HR utilize a correct blend of both the methods in such an interesting manner that the employees gain satisfaction. Not only are they given monetary bonuses, but also recognition and status. This keeps them highly motivated.

This is a crucial concept in the field of motivation. What actually happens here is the person or individual is an intelligent being, but he is not motivated enough which leads to him not using his intelligence for the assigned work. It means that the individual decides if he should use self-control to not do a job or get a goal. It is the drive that makes the person active to fulfill the goal. They are born inside the person and no stimulus is needed. e.g. Some people may get drives to be appreciated, so he will behave accordingly.
