This is a way to get the people familiar with the Kudler name. It is also a great place to put background information so prospective customers can read and determine if the right place for them to take their business. The information that can be put on an Internet websites can be more thorough then what you can have in a store. Handing out information in a store would also be more difficult. One weakness Kudler has is the lack of knowledge in expanding in a few areas the store is looking to grow.
Technology is so important today including its hardware and software. Kudler’s current information technology keeps tabs on customers, inventory, items, orders, order lines, stores, suppliers, tax tables, and tenders. Customer information is on file so Kudler can send the customers mailings for birthday, anniversaries, etc. An inventory table helps determine what they need to prepare items. Order table is for keeping track of any order placed in each of the stores. The store table holds the data of each of the stores from names to emergency contact numbers. The supplier table keeps track of the vendors of which the inventory is bought from. The tax table makes sure the proper tax is what the stores are going to charge depending on the store’s location. Tender is a way to keep track of the methods used in paying for their products or any orders made.
One way to make and improvement is to update their system from a 56K modem to DSL. An upgrade on everything from computers to printers will be necessary to function efficiently and be effective. The older the computers the more time the users will waste waiting on all the information to go through. Currently Kudler works with Microsoft Office 97 and needs to upgrade to Windows 2007 or higher. Kudler could also invest in a program that is specific toward this type of product. For example, Oracle is a computer program the users can do anything from hiring to creating invoices. It creates more automation and therefore it would be less work on them trying to keep track of inventory, invoices, sales, etc. Developing a program like this will have all of the store’s information in one place so the program can pull reports with only the information Kudler is looking for. ...
