Kobe Bryant has the Los Angeles Lakers franchise record of most points scored in a single game with eighty-one points in 2006 against the Toronto Raptors, which is also the second most in the entire National Basketball Association. LeBron James, also with great rewards in his repertoire, has won the NBA Most Valuable Player award three times throughout his career. James’ fans state that his awards are to a higher level of greatness than that of Bryant’s. Throughout his career, LeBron James has won three NBA MVP awards and one championship. Kobe Bryant has won one NBA MVP award, two Finals MVP awards, two scoring championships, and last but not least his five NBA championships. The majority of James’ awards exuded how good of a player he was on his own, rather than his will to win. It is more about which player does the most for his team to win championships, not to get MVP’s like James. Bryant’s awards show his loyalty to his team and his determination to win rather than the determination to have the best statistics.
Many of Bryant’s skeptics proclaim that he cannot win without a significant other player. Bryant proved this wrong when he won his fourth and fifth championships without the help of his former teammate the monstrous Shaquille O’Neal. James fans are spitting hypocrisy with this argument, as James has won only one championship along side of one of the greatest players in the game today, Dwyane Wade.
