As stated on the figure above, people are encouraged to create new knowledge through thinking and reasoning. Thinking is not well emphasized and that`s why the dynamic knowledge is not a comprehensive practice in our organization. Even within a department, some people have tactical approach versus others who are strategic thinker.
Organization announces all changes on monthly newspaper and quarterly town halls. If there is an on-going issue, other departments get to know through daily meeting update but nothing else will promote awareness.
One way to come up with new ideas is interacting with outside environment. At EPP, only R& D has a great approach on trial-error experiment and tries to keep in touch with scientific environment for quality improvement.
Therefore, we can say that from the knowledge creation and capture point of view, we need to improve innovative approach and questioning. We also need to motivate staff to share their ideas on a procedural basis.
When it comes to knowledge transition, we see a remarkable involvement of processes and technology. As mentioned previously, we are a going organization in technology. It is so costly because our technology infrastructure is not completely in place yet but it has been discussed a lot of time that we are not even well aware of our technological capability. This gap is directly affecting our efficiency through longer or inaccurate processing of knowledge.
Knowledge transmission is not a centralized and standardized practice but may vary in methodology from one are to another. The only centralized procedure is the SAP s which should be up to dated but currently, it is a bit codified and not quite transparent.
Procurement has started its official interaction by implementing supplier scorecard, market price analysis and logistic benchmarking which needs a lot of back and forth with outside environment.
Marketing and sales are the main group dealing with outside environment for the purpose of marketing and sales.
