The intent of this project is for your project group to conduct independent investigation and demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of a specific area related to Computer and Cyber Forensics (or digital forensics). The project can take several forms. Your team may (1) design a hands-on lab, (2) develop a comprehensive WWW portal on a topic related to cyber forensics, or (3) choose your own form and substance.
The following paragraphs are guidelines for some of the project options:
1. Hands-on Lab Development

This type of project requires a report for grading, as well as the website that you design and display. You may choose to research and design a WWW portal on a topic related to Computer and Cyber Forensics. You must do background research and investigation of literature (on-line and at the library) on your topic area.
3. Other Project Ideas: I am open to other suggestions for projects.
The deliverable of the project contains three major parts: a project proposal, the final written report, and an oral presentation.
1. Project Proposal (20%)
Project proposals are due at the beginning of class (please refer to syllabus for specific due date).. Your team must submit a description of what you propose to do for your project to Angel. At a minimum, this proposal should include:
• The title, description of the topic (what, why, how), scenarios and objectives of the project.
• Preliminary review of the literature and resources.
• Citations to papers, books, programs, or URLs that you have consulted in exploring or designing your project.
• A description of your project plan to include how the work will be divided among the team members.
This proposal is an important document. It outlines your objective, approach, and work plan. You should give it much thought and effort -- write it carefully, use good grammar, and spell-check the document.
The study proposal will be worth 20 points of your final project grade with 15 points for content and 5 points for form (style, looks, and mechanics).
2. Final Projects Report (60%)
Projects reports are due by the end of the semester (Please refer to syllabus for specific due date).. The final report and presentation slide need to be uploaded to the drop box inside Angel.
