Internal and External Security
Most hotels offer exceptional service and a quality stay, but the hotels have to look at the internal and external security issues that are a major concern. Internal security issues, such as spiteful users of the business using one of the information technology applications within the company. Beside the physical security, hotels have external security issues for an example a person sending e-mails with viruses or a hacker trying to hack into the database for personal information about the customers staying at the hotel. When building several security policies the business needs to provide a successful implementation of security associated projects in the future. This will be one of the first measures that must be in use to reduce the risk of unacceptable use of the company’s resources. Any security policy is the first step toward enhancing security in the work environment. To promote the recognition of the security department the managers must communicate and engage to the employees both external and internal, so this will help influence his or her decision. The employees have to be receptive to the ideas and values held by others to come to an enjoyable conclusion that adds value to the business. Preferably the manager of the department should be distinguish as the authority concerning his or her subordinates and be able to answer any issues, concerns, or enquires. He or she needs to be recognized as credible and trustworthy with an open door policy, so that his or her title does not manipulate whether he or she can be approached.
Most managers need to recognize the significance of individual expansion and rethink some training classes to fulfill his or her role within the organization. The security managers need to become leaders of the company’s standards and code of conduct so that he or she can lead as an example. The employees need security because the procedures and policies inform the staff on various aspects of his or her responsibilities. These policies can inform employee on the general use of the company’s resources and explain to the staff how sensitive data and large quantities of money should be handled. The improvement of a security policy is very valuable to the company as the policy will turn each staff employee into contributors in the business’ attempt to secure communication. The company should have a security policy, this will define the business’ critical resources and how this should be look after. Also serving as a consolidated file as far as defending data security assets is apprehensive.
A security policy is a plan that distinguishes what the critical assets are and how the company would protect that information. The main purpose of the policy is to give employee a quick overview of ‘acceptable use’ of any data or information assets and explaining about the conduct that is allowed or not. This security document is a must read source of information for any employee using any systems or resources defined as critical information or targets. The main purpose in crating the security policy is to set the organization’s security groundwork and put in plain words to staff how he or she is responsible for protecting secured data and while communicating online. To start a procedure for a security policy entails an inclusive examination of the company’s network and critical assets so that security measures can be successfully put into operation.
