Most business’ have their own rules and the way they run things with their own ideas of which functions are the most important to their particular line of business. However, any business will agree that there are four functions of business that all business’ need to follow and run by. Without the use of these functions it is easy to say that the business will soon go under. Without these four functions there is no way that a business could continue to operate or be a success. Those four functions of business are planning, organizing, leading, and controlling.

External factors such as globalization and diversity can also help in the function of planning because as in health care, globalization means that there can be medical help in places where there never could have been before. It means that a doctor can perform surgery from thousands of miles away. Diversity is a major factor in health care because all ethnic groups need medical help. There may be somewhat of a clash at times when it comes to understanding and communication with different ethnic groups however, this can be handled by having an interpreter or learning different languages.
Organizing is in a sense, bringing together all the company’s assets or resources to reach their objectives. This can be and usually does include; financial, human and physical resources because all can be utilized to help achieve the objectives to better the company. This function is like a tree because it branches into many different parts; identifying actions to be accomplished, delegating the actions as to which is most important to get accomplished first to last, next those actions will be assigned to groups of other personnel and finally, the next step is to assign responsibility and decide who will be in charge or have the responsibility, who has the authority.
Then the objectives seem much easier to handle from there. From this point objectives are more or less handled on a personal basis, yet still have the main manager on hand to help with delegating (Norman, 2013).
Internal factors can be a tremendous help when it comes to organizing. Technology will help to do a lot of research and show the manager how to set up different programs to help with organization. Innovation is within the same perspective as technology, it can offer a large amount of help in giving new, fresh ideas on how to help the business to expand and be better. Ethics will be a help in keeping a perspective on how to treat others in business and to ensure that the company runs on the up and up without any wrong doing at all.
Leading is the function in which all managers must step up and do their part at keeping everyone focused on the main objectives. This is also the stage that requires managers to step up and motivate and rally their employees to achieve the objectives; the more motivated the employees are the better the objectives will be reached. This can only be accomplished if the manager can communicate effectively with his employees, this is key to motivating the employees. When a manager knows her employees, she will be able to motivate them with more success. Managers are also studiers of personalities of their employees and it is easier to motivate and communicate when they know who they are working...
