Software applications are computer software programs specifically designed to help individual users or businesses perform specific functions such as accounting, data entry, organize statistical analysis, record trends, security, etc. The definition of information system or management information system (MIS) is the planning, development, management and use of information technology tools to help people perform all tasks relating to information processing and management. Human Resources (HR) needs to perform several tasks including payroll, employee hiring and firing, employee benefit enrollment and organization, and several other business processes. Payroll process in itself can be a very involved process when taking into account labor hours, tax deductions, direct deposit functions and printing checks. Hiring an employee requires gathering and organizing employee personal information such as SSN, home address, bank account information for deposits and all the W-4, 401-K, etc information specifically related to each employee. They also provide a customized approach to your program offering the ability to purchase the entire suite or specific modules.
Accounting information systems (AIS) are primarily used to collect record and organize business financial transactions. Accounts payable and receivable, good or service purchasing, bank account balances and many others are more detailed accounting functions.
