In the age which we live there is an unprecedented focus on getting and staying healthy. As more and more research points to the effect of fitness and nutrition on our overall health, the findings become more difficult to ignore. There is no doubt that the food that we eat and the physical activity that we perform significantly impact our weight and our body's overall health and longevity. The lifestyles of today’s youth have undergone enormous change. Television, computers and video games have replaced many of the physical activities children once enjoyed. With a full time job, school and having 2 toddlers running around it got a little bit more complicated to participate or engage in such activities. Now I’m trying to get back in the routine of walking 3 miles a day. I try to keep my kids physically active, I’m constantly having them go to the park and run around do to the fact that Overweight and Obesity. Many kids are spending less time exercising and more time in front of the TV, computer, or video-game console. And today's busy families have fewer free moments to prepare nutritious, home-cooked meals. From fast food to electronics, quick and easy is the reality for many people in the new millennium. Obesity increases the risk for serious health conditions like type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol, all once considered exclusively adult diseases.
