Leadership in Organization
Leadership has been defined in multiple ways. The subject of leadership has intrigued many individuals and has been speculated by research that probed a growing interest in understanding leadership and the process involving different teams and organizations. Although there are many effective and ineffective ways to merge people to lead, it has been difficult to define the “term” leadership. Combining the various approaches provides a better understanding for one to understand how a leadership position can be most effective. The approach chosen as it relates to a leadership position is the integrative approach to leadership. The application of this approach involves more than one type of leadership variable. It also includes two or more leadership variables that focus on the same approach to exert a more exceptional effort when making a personal sacrifice to accomplish a group projective and the mission of this group (Yukl, 2010).
The strengths of the integrative approach of leadership lie within the character of a leader. The theory of this approach includes transformational, charismatic, stewardship, servant leadership, and strategic that is the strengths of the integrative leadership approach.
