Within Escape to the Wild the new human resource management function could assist with:
Formulating and implementing new policies and procedures
Uniform training of employees
Administration of financial matters
A recruitment and selection program

A policies and procedures human resource department would allow Escape to the Wild to:
• Formulate appropriate policies that ensure health & safety regulations are adhered to as well as following legal requirements for employees.
• Formulation of working procedures alongside managers and line managers.

• Maintain recruitment and selection records.

Uniform training of employees across the company would allow Escape to the Wild to:
• Provide fair and equal training to existing and new staff members
• Adequate training would ensure all employees have equal opportunities within the company for further promotion prospects.
• Escape to the Wild would benefit from a wealth of knowledgeable, skilled professionals with the capacity to perform tasks that are asked of them.
• Free management staff from the administration of this duty.
The activities that Escape to the Wild would need to undertake would be as follows:
• Evaluate existing training to decide who needs supplementation through conducting a training needs analysis.
• Design and facilitate the training of new staff.
• Ensure all members of staff have access to training to aid personal growth of employees.
• Train staff to facilitate personal growth and internal promotion.

The human resource function taking responsibility for administration of financial matters would allow Escape to the Wild to:
• Free managers from taking time from their normal tasks to deal with special paid leave, instead human resource function would deal with these requests.
• Have an entire overview of work performance identify staff who have earned fiscal rewards through pay rises.
• Ensure salaries are fair across the whole company.

The activities that Escape to the Wild would need to undertake would be as follows:
• Correlate all financial documents including salaries across the company.
• Issue special paid leave such as maternity and sick paid leave.
• Ensuring financing is a viable for other human resource management departments such as training.


The human resource management department would work alongside other existing departments such as the finance department and online & mail order sales department. With the human resource leader as the head of the department answerable to the managing director.
Answerable to the human resource leader would be the employee advocate, functional expert, human capital developer, IT developer/systems maintenance and human resource finance assistant.

The human resource leader’s role will include overseeing the human resource department and all those whom work within it. The human resource leader will also be responsible for the communication between departments, ensuring the company as a whole is aware of the policies and procedures the human resource department has formulated as well as other initiatives and news from the human resource department is filtered through the company. As well as having the responsibility of issuing employment contracts to all current and future employees.
