Healthy Eating Plan Comparison
I find it a bit challenging to compare something that has not changed much from the first week I wrote my healthy eating lifestyle. I am still on the Paleo diet. It is not as strict as it should be but I follow the ultimate rules; excluding all dairy, sugar, salt, carbohydrates, and include more protein, fruits, and vegetables. My reason for this lifestyle is to help me perform better when I CrossFit. I try to progress and improve my time, my strength and stamina. At times I crave for something sweet and delicious and feel like giving in and want to end back where I started, and then I think of all the ...view middle of the document...
I am not indicating that these foods are not healthy and good for you yet, these foods are fine in moderation, but they are really not nourishing from a caloric standpoint without the fats or carbs or both. Instead, eating pork belly also known as bacon and a lot of it in some mashed cauliflower, fatty lamb shanks cooked in coconut milk, short ribs cooked in tallow and a whole bunch of shrimp cocktail, salmon or tuna. Consuming that stuff until you are not hungry is Paleo.
Since this diet I have done an incredible amount of evaluating and understanding where I am at now. At first, I was overthinking my diet and picking out things that I should be having and should not. It was tiresome to put so much thought into what you eat that I almost gave up. Although when I say it like that, it makes it seem like I have found my niche.
I am a 25 year old female standing at 5 foot 1 inches and I weigh 107 pounds. My daily calorie intake is 2000. Since I cannot intake any grains or dairy, I have to substitute those into supplements or an alternative. From the last time I did this assignment there really is not much of a difference because I am still eating the same way. I am consuming about three to four cups of vegetables, two to three cups of fruits (non-tropical), and protein about six ounces since I have to cut out my grains and dairy. I need something else to provide that source for me. I am getting the right amount of physical activity I need. I am also limiting my calories from solid fats and added sugars to 260 calories a day and reducing my sodium intake to less than 2300 mg a day. I am also talking Fish Oil, Vitamin C, Calcium, and Vitamin E for my multivitamins. I do not drink anything else on a daily basis aside from water. I am still drinking Almond Milk or Silk Milk in replacement of my dairy products.
My body weight is pretty consistent as my routine is on a constant level. The only time I will recognize that I have gained some weight is if I have gained muscles or if I am on my cheat days. I try not to have cheat days but I have realized that when I do it throws me off and I feel like I have to start from scratch again. Therefore, I try to avoid it as much as possible....
