Effective communication is about transmitting messages to others plainly and explicitly. This practice usually entails a sender, a recipient, a message, and transactions. Those transactions can be verbal or nonverbal, oral or written, personal or impersonal, and issue oriented or relationship oriented, to name a few of their characteristics (Northouse & Northouse, 1998). The objective of this paper is to present information on health care communication and how the relevancy of effective personal and professional health care communication can affect other healthcare professionals, clients, and patients. It is a rift of human communication concerned with how people cope with health-related issues (Northouse & Northouse, 1998). Health care communication is central in synchronizing actions within a health care unit if it enfolds health care administration and team members. Also it is critical in curative, and support groups for a variety of health-related notions.

The relevancy of effective personal health care communication with other health care professionals, clients, patients is extremely vital in aiding in the correct diagnosis of an individual's condition. Once communication is deficient in the health care industry, there is a lack of quality care given, mistakes made, and a deficiency of precision. With lives in the equilibrium, efficient communication is a necessity in health care. Each person implicated in the health care industry is an instrument of communication. Also effective communications whether verbal or nonverbal with efficient delegation require the ability to understand and to be understood while gathering data. According to Hansten and Jackson (2009), “The activities of delegation, like those of the nursing process itself, are cyclical, beginning with a gathering of data, continuing with the utilization of those data as plans are made, carried out, and concluding with the analysis of the activity; the cycle then repeats itself” (p. 3). Within the health care industry, it is extremely imperative that the healthcare practitioners, client, and patients are very comprehensible in what they say to one another during that process. For example, if communication is vague, incoherent or limited during the data gathering process of symptoms and past medical histories, the diagnosis the health care practitioners come up with may be inaccurate, leading to maltreatment of the disease, and possible death.

In the health care industry, effective communication is a fundamental constituent of life. The relevancy of effective professional health care communication has a direct impact to health outcomes. In the healthcare setting successful communication between the health care teams is critical. It promotes a common understanding among staffs, and dependable eminence care of the patient. When effective communication is lacking, health professionals can misinterpret or be unaware of patient’s wishes, wants, and outlook; moreover the patient may not comprehend his or her rights and the options open to him or her. A health care practitioner’s expertises are completely linked to his or her ability to communicate effectively, hence an enhancement of successful outcomes. The capability to communicate efficiently and accurately, recognize a patient's needs, issues, and wishes will not only offer fulfillment to the patient but also for the health care practitioners.
