Good Teacher Essay

610 words - 3 pages

What are some important qualities of a good school teacher? Use specific details and examples to explain why these qualities are important.

Teaching is a very noble profession. God sent His messengers on earth to teach peace, humanity & care to mankind. Hence we can say that teaching and learning is very important to frame an individual life.

In my opinion, school teachers perform a major part for every student in each of their lives. For child development, the role of parents and teachers are very vital. They can help children to turn into a better human being. Many psychologists believe that the initial six or seven years of a child is very crucial and important for his/her development. It is very important for parents as well as for teachers to give proper attention to their children. Teaching is very responsible job and according to my opinion the good teacher should have ...view middle of the document...

Some teachers do not take proper care of their students and not fulfilling the qualities which are mentioned above, as a result, sometimes students leading their lives in dangerous path.

I experienced dealing with teachers who had positive and negative qualities in my school life. In my initial years of schooling I found very good teachers, teacher who take care of each and every need of students, teachers who posses all good qualities, they used to give good advice to students in their every steps, even when students do not perform well, with teachers advice their performance drastically changed and they started performing well. Even I performed well in my initial days of schooling. I used to get good grades. But when I changed my school, situation totally changed. Teachers in that school used to give severe punishment to students, sometimes without any reason, they beat students, they used to discourage students while giving them less marks in their exams, which leads discouragement among students. Some students had chosen wrong ways to pass the examination, and they felt proud of doing wrong actions. I realized that how the role of teachers is important to build good character of students.

For me education does not mean to attain bookish knowledge, to get good grades or to get better job, my drive for education is always been different, I feel that the main purpose of education is to build your ethics and to transform yourself as better human being.

The meaning of education has drastically changed in recent years, now education is consider as commercial commodity, the relation between students and teachers are not same as we see in past. Now the element of respect is missing.

In conclusion I would say that to make a child a better human being, both parents and teachers need to work in collaboration and good education should impart to children so that from initial years, they have good ethics and manners.
