The general consensus around the office is that there are many busy and fast-paced employees with enough on their schedule. With feedback surveys and inquiries, most sought out to develop some green IT controls to get “green” throughout the firm. The firm has been looking to do some different things with their firm and input new fresh ideas. The green IT initiatives would be something the whole firm would show interest in as the strategy of the LLP is to stay current with new technologies and maintain fresh and new thinking within the practice.

Green Potential:
When looking at the current status and state of the firm there is a lot of potential to move towards a green IT environment. As the concept is new and upcoming, it fits in perfectly with the strategy of the partnership, and it all starts with some basic changes that will go a long way. With so many computers and a building in the downtown area, cost is a factor. Finding a way to utilize the technology optimization and collecting information on employees locking their computers or laptops, versus putting them to sleep could be a step in the right direction. Besides this, the racks or storage units as well as the material for accessories can be replaced with recycle products. In the tax office, there was the above mentioned switch to go paperless. This would be a huge cost savings and help the occupancy of file rooms and improve information sharing. The paperless transition, computer power saving, and materials, are the best green areas for Accountants LLP.
