A. 1. One international company in the United States that demonstrates a global management approach to their operations is Wal-Mart. One company that continues to compete with its competition is McDonalds. McDonald’s created the dollar menu a while ago as a form of competitiveness. Doing this, they allowed themselves to keep customers, save costs and expenses, and gain more profits than any prior years before. (Google, 2011)

Q. 3. What advancements in operations management in other countries have affected the way companies operate in the United States?

A. 3. The advancements in transportation and communication along with technology around the globe have affected or influenced the ways that companies operate in the United States and elsewhere. (AIU Online, 2011) Many businesses outside of the United States started in the United States at first, however, since off shoring is way cheaper for a business, many businesses have chose to do so, this allows for them to stay competitive with the global market. Since the expenses of running a business is cheaper outside the border of the United States, many companies have chose to offshore, and many more are considering it in the future. This is a result of communication and transportation changes along with technology changes as well, as these factors have made it more convenient for many businesses to operate differently. (Howard, 2003)
