Management is described as a process of working with people and resources to accomplish organization goals. The function of management involves planning, organizing, controlling; and leading. There are factors that can influence and affect each functions. Effective planning is essential to the organization and its overall success. Controlling is setting standards, comparing actual performances and taking corrective actions. An organization cannot operate without the advances of technology. Technology has improved the way we communicate and work with each other’s. It has created new products and advance techniques. These techniques allows companies to enter markets that was once unavailable to them. Advance technologies has also enable us to manage communication through the use of the smartphone, cell phone, telecommunication and the internet. Information is made available to us through the computerized management system as well.
Globalization as discussed in our text was described as the free movement of goods, services, and people across the world in a seamless and integrate manner. It is also believed to be responsible for opening up the global economy and the concomitant increase in trade between the many nations (Bateman and Snell, 2009).
Diversity is a group of people with different background, races, religion, and political views that are found within the workplace. The advantages of having diversity in the workplace will allow different points of views and experiences to be shared with other team members. However, the disadvantages may be conflicts that others may have when being in the present of different races or cultures. The managers should be skilled in reconciling these differences while encouraging cooperation and participation among its members.
Ethics pertains to dealing with morals or the principles of morality; and right or wrong. Directors and Senior Managers must comply with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations that promotes honesty and ethical conduct in business, and toward all consumers. Innovation means introducing new goods and services to the market. A business must be able to adapt quickly to changes, competitors, and communicate effectively with their customers and clients.
Internal factors that affect the organization
Wal-Mart is an extremely successful company. Managers and CEO tries to meet their responsibility in planning, leading, organizing, and controlling in order to maintain a successfully corporation. This company was built on trust, fairness, respect; and integrity. Wal-Mart is widely known for it based and ethically led organization. It is also well-known for having a diverse workforce group of people. Senior citizens and people with disability will often times greet individuals as they enter through the doors. Internal factors such as marketing, finance, accounting; production, operation, research; development, and computer information systems can cause a significant interruption or damages to this organization.
A lack of training and supplies can also cause the company to suffer loss. Managers must use their skills to train their associate’s appropriately within the assigned jobs. Improper or the lack of training can lead to poor job performances, loss of customers, and the lack of...
