The research will investigate Flybe’s capability to meet current and future changes in the Political, Economic, Social and Technological environments. Examples for these are the new European environmental regulations, the high fuel prices, deregulation and liberalisation of airline industry which creates competition, the corporate social responsibility, developing technologies and even social factors such as obesity.
At the end, after evaluating the external environment and predicting future changes, a conclusion combining the main observations made in the report will follow, and if needed, recommendations for organizational development will be made.
Researching the business climate and in particular, preparing a PEST analysis is important for understanding the external macro environment in which a business operates. Regardless of the fact that a company cannot control all aspects in relation to the external macro environment, the PEST analysis helps analysing factors that may influence future product or service development, business or strategy planning.
This report will examine some specific fields of study using secondary data, in order to be identified the likely future changes in the political, economic, social and technological environment of Flybe Limited. An explanation concerning the possible effects of the changes identified upon the company’s future profitability will be given. At the end, ways for improving the company’s profitability in relation to the identified changes will be suggested. These processes will be broken down into several key areas. The next section will outline the methods used in order to collect and analyse information related to the political, economic, social and technological future of Flybe Limited.

Findings / results
Flybe Limited is private limited British company engaged in the low-cost transportation of passengers, cargo and mail using modern aircrafts. It is registered and based in Exeter, England in 1992. Nowadays Flybe flies to more than 65 destinations in Europe and it is “Europe’s largest regional airline” (Flybe database, 2012). Moreover, “Flybe is UK’s number one domestic airline” with 28 % passenger market share and more than 7.2 million people transported across Europe for 2011 (Flybe database, 2012). As shown in Table 1, this brings revenue for 2011 of 595.5 million pounds.
