* Variation: High
We calculate the sales of each quarter of Draka, there are not fluctuant at the first three quarter, but a little decrease at quarter 4. It seems the demand of Variation is quite stable, however, if we look into each single product, it cannot be predicted in advance and are likely to cause turbulence in planning and some variation in demand level. So we still think the Variation is high in this case.

* Visibility: High
Draka’s process is relatively high visibility because as a company you need to contact customers. Especially for a company like Draka which is Customer focus. Draka is doing great in this part. They have great customer contact skills, and have their offices in 31 countries.
Through the four Vs analysis, Draka is moving generally moving in the right direction. However, in the case, Draka want to change MTS into MTO, how it will impact the four Vs? We think it will increase the Lead Time and the waiting time for customers. And Rush order will be a problem due to Draka’s 0 inventory. Factors such as its setup time, processing time, and unit holding cost, impact the make-to-order versus make-to-stock decision. We suggest that Draka combines MTO and MTO.
