Ang kabanata na ito ay naglalaman ng panimula o introduksyon kung san kabilang yung pananaw ng mananaliksik, statistics at mga tao na may kinalaman sap ag-aarap na ito. Nilalaman din ito ng bakgrawnd ng pag-aaral, teoretikal framework, konseptual framework, paglalahad ng suliranin, iskop at delimitasyong ng pag-aaral, kahalagahan ng pag-aaral, at definisyon ng mga salitang ginamit.

Kaya’t ayon sa pagkakasuri ng mga mananaliksik sa grap na na may kalakihan na ang porsiyento ng mga dating estudyante (babae at lalake) na nagiging magulang na kaagad kahit hindi sila nakapagtapos ng pag-aaral; May posibilidad na hindi na rin makakapagtapos ang kanilang mga anak dahil magkakaproblema sila kumita ng sapat na pera. At dahil dun, baka mag desisyon ang kanilang mga anak na hindi na rin tapusin ang pag-aaral kasi nakikita nilang nihihirapan ang kanilang mga magulang.
