Poor living conditions and little job opportunities were sure to be the push factors of these immigrants to come to the US to enjoy the hope of a new and comfortable homeland.7. Almost 23 million immigrants poured into the United States from almost every area of the world. Until the 1880's, most newcomers still came from northern and western Europe.
