As a homeowner we should all be competent in conserving energy. Conserving energy is not only a good way to save money but is good for the environment as well. A good portion of the energy we use is from sources such as gas or oil which are used to heat many homes. Gas and oil are resources which are harmful to the environment and are non renewable energy resources. Conserving energy is important to make sure we can fulfill the needs of our daily lives.
There are two types of energy sources which are known as renewable and non renewable energy sources. Non renewable energy resources are things such as oil products which we will only have until the supply runs out. The morning drive to drop the kids off, go for breakfast, and then head on in to the office. Well this can be harmful to the environment. How, you may ask? Well automobiles use a non renewable resource which emits harmful toxins or pollutants into the environment. A simple solution could be to carpool or take a bus. Many cities are encouraging people to take public transportation to help preserve the ozone layer. Another good way to help the environment, save money, and energy is to use recycled goods. Many goods are just thrown into the trash which may or may not decompose posing a threat to the environment. On the good side is many materials are recyclable. Purchase things from recycled products such as batteries. Another great method to conserve energy and the environment is to insulate your home with eco-friendly products. You can purchase double pane windows, insulate your windows and doorways with a thinsulate tape. This saves energy that is used to heat your home and also prevents using harmful gas to heat your home.
The government can play a part in helping us conserve our energy. The government can make a set of standards for appliances and ensure that they meet them to run energy efficient. The government can also encourage automobile manufacturers to pursue the need for an alternative fuel source such as ethanol which is made out of farming products. The government can also fund research and development to maintain houses which can be hybrid and heat themselves with solar power. There are many ways the government can control the way we use our natural energy sources.
In the end we can all be a good friend to help preserve the world we live in. Put your trash in its place and recycle everything we waste. Saving the Earth will not be quick, turn out the light use a candle stick, for mother nature is our friend let us not contribute to her end. Take this in mind when you’re alone a little thing will not go unseen as long as everyone pulls their part if we contribute to conserving energy and saving the environment then the world will be a much better place.
