CUSHING’S DISEASE:
Cushing’s disease is when the pituitary gland releases too much adrenocorticotropic. The pituitary gland is a part of the endocrine system. This is disease is caused by a tumor or hyperplasia of the pituitary gland. The most common cause of this disease is known as adenoma, a benign tumor. With this disease the pituitary gland begins to overproduce ACTH which then causes the body to respond by over producing cortisol. There are two different types of cretinism: Myxedematous and Endemic.
OVERUSE OF ANABOLIC STEROIDS:
Anabolic steroids are similar to the male hormone testosterone. They can be taken in pill form, shot into the muscle or rubbed onto the skin as a cream. Steroids make the muscle bigger and the bones stronger. They also jumpstart puberty in young boys and help boys who have a genetic disorder.
OOPHORECTOMY:
The surgical removal of the ovaries, which are part of the female reproductive system. You often need this often times when there is signs of and or there is pelvic disease. You can also have this procedure when there is a possibility of ovarian cancer. It can be included as part of a hysterectomy.
ORCHIETCOMY
The surgical removal of both testicles. Mainly used to get rid of prostate cancer.
Subscapular orchiectomy is the removal of the tissue from the lining of the testicles where testosterone is made. Orchiectomy may help relieve symptoms and prevent complications for a prostate cancer patient. Orchiectomy causes hormone changes in the body.
FALLING LEVELS OF HORMONES IN AGING MALES:
Many men who are getting up there age may experience excessive fatigue, become weaker, more depressed, and loss sex drive. All this is due to a loss of testosterone. Testosterone is the aid for puberty, it is what makes a young boys muscle grow and get stronger which is why when a drop in testosterone occurs men claim they have become to get weaker. It also aids in the sex drive of a male going into puberty young men begin to experiment and become sexually active and when they start to experience a drop that’s when erectile dysfunction happens and loss of sex drive occurs.
