Coworkers complain that the Muslims annunciation of their prayers is disrupting their co-workers’ ability to converse during lunch. How would you advise Prestige to proceed? I would advise prestige to advice the Muslim employee to just say their prayer quietly, since prestige is letting the Muslim employee to pray they should respect that and should pray quietly. Then if the matter gets worse than just let the Muslim employee go to a mosque or assign them a different schedule.
3. Jose Martinez applies for a job with American Heartland Corporation. Sparky Foster, personnel director, asks Jose if he is an American citizen. Jose replies in the negative, but then produces a green card signifying his status as a resident alien with working privileges. Sparky silences Jose and then tells Jose, “At American Heartland, we hire only American citizens.” Jose is considering suing under Title VII. How would you advise him?
I would advise Jose not to sue the company since that is American heartland crop policy. I would ask sparky to write Jose an apology letter
