Society only talks about women being abused and not men because it’s a trend man always the one in action. According to (help guide 2015), Emotional abuse includes verbal abuse such as yelling, name-calling, blaming, and shaming. Isolation, intimidation, and controlling behavior also fall under emotional abuse. Next is men abuse; it’s a strange thing to say, but it always happen under the quiet. “While the majority of domestic violence victims are women, abuse of men happens far more often than you'd probably expect. Typically, men are physically stronger than women but that doesn't necessarily make it easier to escape the violence or the relationship. An abused man faces a shortage of resources, skepticism from police, and significant legal obstacles, especially when it comes to gaining custody of his children from an abusive mother. No matter your age, occupation, or sexual orientation, though, you can overcome these challenges and escape the abuse” (Help Guide, 2015, p. 1).
This proposal will be about helping everyone who is seeking. According to Appendix B Peace Domestic Violence agency mission is “to reduce victim trauma, empower survivors, and promote recovery through direct services. PEACE is committed to reducing the incidence of sexual assault and domestic violence through education and strives to challenge societal norms and beliefs that condone and perpetuate violence in the community”. The name started off with peace because people are looking for peace in their life and no more sorrow.
We would like to assistant the needed with shelter, food, counseling, and strategies according to their situation. For example, women been through abusive relationship all her life and didn’t have no one to turn to. So one this lady visits me for advice; I didn’t know what to tell her at the moment. So I had her leave her number because I had to think how I can make a difference in her life. When I call her, she said my husband just stab me in the back, and I don’t know what to do? This agency is not allow to turn no one away like I did because if I helped her on the spot she wouldn’t get stab.
This organization is seeking funds to help provide supply for all the patients and workers as well.
