Dirt Bike Recommendations Essay

1157 words - 5 pages

After reviewing the concerns that the company Dirt Bikes has expressed to me I feel that I may have found some solutions or suggestions to their problems. When it comes to upgrading or implementing technology the cost can become a concern as it is not cheap to get things started. The positive side to this is that the long term cost is small compared to the long term gain the company will have. With the implementation of internet and intranet tools the company can see its sales, marketing, and overall profit increase as their overall expenses decrease. With the use of these tools, employees will now be able to work more efficiently while communicating better to enhance employee and customer ...view middle of the document...

The first problem that I would like to try and resolve would be obtaining information effectively, which is why we should develop a better company web site which allows customers to find our company quicker while offering important public information. We could develop a website that allows for internet research using search engines, as well as intranet access to those individuals with proper company credentials. Our website can be infused with many other sites and tools on the internet. The company’s website could use an RSS feed from other websites that we may use when obtaining information about current market trends or research information. This will allow us to know exactly what is going on when new information hits the market. Many companies now use Twitter, Facebook, or other social network sites to share information with the world. It is both instant and current as the information is available once the information is posted, and links and images can be used to direct people to other web locations. These tools can all be combined to create an interactive company website. With our own links of many different topics, employees will be able to communicate to fellow employees as well as customers and suppliers outside of the company. As an internet/intranet tool, I think this could be very valuable as the wealth of information available is almost limitless and for the most, much cheaper than traditional business application tools.

Other than being a valuable research tool, I know this system can change the way Dirt Bikes do marketing. Employees can make use of these links to advertise for the company for free and to an endless market of consumers. For the internet users that follow Dirt Bikes, they can acquire more information about the products we offer. Blast email software would also be a great marketing tool that has two main benefits. The first benefit would be for the employees, because the software can automatically create a database of those that has signed up for email updates. This is so employees would not have to constantly monitor those that want to be contacted. The second benefit is that messages can be sent instantly and can include text, graphics, or anything else we feel needs to be communicated with consumers. A system like this is also beneficial because it can be monitored and directed. To make sure that this system is being used properly; all users can be monitored in real time. This makes sure employees are doing their jobs and not...
