Diet and Nutrition are a prescribed selection of foods and the procedure of taking in the food or other substances required for growth, health and good condition. Diet and Nutrition are also both very important in everyday life. These vital aspects of life are both necessary in order to maintain good mental and physical health. These are also essential to perform tasks needed in everyday life.
For my ideal weight, I used an online calculator. My ideal weight was based upon height, age, and gender. I think that the reason I am not at my ideal weight, is because of genetics, since my father had a thin frame when he was my age and also because of my eating habits. My three hours of light exercise consist of walking 2.5 to 3 mph, house cleaning, and child care. My one hour of moderate exercise consists of walking 3.5 to 4 mph. My three hours of heavy exercise consist of hockey, basketball, football, and soccer. My total daily calories are 2799.3.
For my dietary assessments, I used an online calculator to record three separate days of consisting of the foods that I have eaten. For the first day I consumed 9.8 ounces of grain, 3 cups of vegetables, 0.1 cup of fruit, 0.3 cups of milk, and 3.2 ounces of meat and beans. My total fat for the first day was 30.9% of my total calories, my saturated fat was 9% of my total calories, my cholesterol was 146 mg, and my sodium was 4085 mg. For the second day I consumed 12.8 ounces of grain, 2 cups of vegetables, 3.1 cups of fruit, 2.4 cups of milk, and 2.8 ounces of meat and beans. My total fat for the second day was
27.2% of my total calories, my saturated fat was 8.8% of my total calories, my
cholesterol was 85 mg, and my sodium 4177 mg. For the third day I consumed 5.5 ounces of grain, 2 cups of vegetables, 2 cups of fruit, 0 cups of milk, and 3.1 ounces of meat and beans. My total fat for the third day was 29.6% of my total calories, my saturated fat was 5.4% of my total calories, my cholesterol was 1 mg, and my sodium was 2684 mg. For the first day my grain, vegetable, total fat and saturated fat intake was excellent, my meat and beans intake was satisfactory, and my fruit, milk, and sodium intake was unsatisfactory. For the second day my grain, vegetable, fruit, milk, total fat, saturated fat, and cholesterol intake was excellent, my meat and beans intake was satisfactory, and my sodium intake was unsatisfactory. For the third day my grain, vegetable, fruit, total fat, saturated fat, and cholesterol intake was excellent, my sodium and meat and beans intake was satisfactory, and my milk intake was unsatisfactory.
