Marketing is an imperative function within each and every business organization and takes a significant amount of planning to promote and ultimately sell a product or service. The purpose of this paper is to define marketing from at least two different sources and include my definition of marketing as well. The importance of marketing in organizational success will also be explained. Often times, companies have an outstanding product or service they feel will sell to consumers, yet the company may not have a strong marketing strategy or ideas to promote these products or services and the sales are unsatisfactory. It is fundamentally important that the company understand the needs of the customer and then advance forward to execute a clear, concise marketing strategy. In marketing to the end user, these are essential needs to build clientele and sales for a program or organization. The motive behind each marketing concept blends into a story or 'brand' that leverages competition between industry leaders.Coca ColaCoca-Cola uses events and experience as well as advertising and personal selling (Santa Clause ad) to keep its consumers satisfied (Coca-Cola, 2007). The Coca-Cola may have lacked the strength it holds without these marketing modes. Although these are the same, the dynamics behind each marketing tool heightens the sensitivity of the consumer. For instance, events and experience puts a company in an interactive setting to provide personal selling as well. It is very important for a company to practice personal selling and publicity methods while hosting an event (Coca-Cola, 2007). All of these mechanics play a part in gathering loyal consumers or prospecting new ones. The program directors must take time to plan their marketing strategies carefully so funding is not wasted. Each method brings more to the table in success, but implementing the plan means so much more to investors.CitibankCitibank has an identity theft commercial where it shows a muscular type guy, but when he talks it sounds like a young girl who had stolen his identity.
