Decisions in Paradise, Part 1
Not every vacation dreamland is what it is all cracked up to be. The Kava Island is one of these places that I am talking about. The inhabitants on the island of Kava are going through very tough times right now. The company with whom I am now working with works in the pharmaceutical field, and I will help them come up with how they as a company can help in the restructuring area on the island of Kava. Identifying problems of the Kava people as well as coming up with a criterion to do so will help build our goals as well as our objectives. We will also evaluate the causes and effects of all of the trials and tribulations that have hit the Kava Island.

I met Alex, who is my supervisor, and upon our meeting I mistook her for the company’s receptionist in this building on the island of Kava. After the mix-up, I learned that on Kava Island there is a definite community need for assistance. Alex explained the problems on the island and all that everyone has been going through.
After listening to Alex’s information about Kava, I have made some identifications on the problems that are here and taking place on the island of Kava. The location that Kava is in in the South Pacific does not help any of the problems that they are having on the island one bit. The potential threats that have put Kava at risk are many natural disasters such as typhoons, hurricanes, eruptions from the volcano, earthquakes and also epidemics amongst the people like avian flu and HIV. Any of these natural disasters or human illnesses can happen at any time here on the island. With the natural disasters that are taking place on the island, the infrastructure and the crops are deeply impacted and it is very hard to survive and make do on a daily basis.
With having a big population, 50% under 15 years old, makes this small island of Kava have a few problems to deal with right off the bat. There is quite a big diversity going on throughout the island’s population when it comes to cultures, languages and also religions. Also, there is an issue with the organizations that are supposed to be there to help the community members. These organizations include governmental service on all levels, military groups, missionary groups and also the businesses on the island itself as well as off of the island as well.
Also, I am beginning to have an issue of where I am suppose to work and where I am going to be working out of. There is a huge mess at the island office, and I am feeling the pressure already and I’m wondering if I am really cut out for this project that has been put in front of me. I am feeling alone as I have no family or friends to turn to here and I am wondering how long I will have to be here on this mess of what they call Kava Island.
The company has relayed to me that they are wanting to give to the community members a high quality, safety, and security as well as medical supplies to use for anything that may come their way. The goal is to bring this island and the inhabitant’s prosperity for themselves. We want to have their economic environment grow positively,...
