Decisions in Paradise
Kava is a significant island country in the South pacific. Over half of the population is under the age of 15 and there is a large mixture of different ethnic backgrounds. The citizens of Kava have about four religions that there recognize Indigenous, Christian, Buddhist, and Islamic. The languages that are spoken in Kava are indigenous, English, Spanish, and French. With the insight from Alex and with Nik’s critical thinking skills, he is sure to come up with answers. The mission for SunGard is an Information Availability solutions provider, offering our clients uninterrupted access to mission-critical data and systems to run their business (SunGard, 2010). Nik will sit down and brainstorm on ways to improve Kava. The first thing Nik will address is healthcare, poverty, economics, and education. With the epidemics Kava is facing, they need to have their healthcare system restored. The Avian influenza is an infection caused by avian (bird) influenza (flu) A viruses (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, n.d.). Correcting the healthcare issue is very important. People are dying from this infection everyday. Nik plans to build makeshift hospital rooms to give the infected the treatments they need for recovery. They will also be kept away form others to reduce the spreading of this infection. HIV/AIDS is another epidemic Kava is facing. His idea for that is to first give treatment to those infected and to coordinate health classes to stress the importance safe sex and drug abuse. He will also make sure that the children of Kava get the vaccines they need to protect them for the different viruses they may face. Nik also has in plans to make sure everyone has food. He will reach out to the Red Cross and other foundations to have nutritious foods and clean water shipped or flown to Kava. In order to get all this done Nik must meet with the government of Kava...
