Critical Thinking and Ethics
In life, one might find him- or herself unable to make clear decisions based on their situation or ideas. People often find themselves stuck in the decision-making process when presented with new information. Critical thinking is the ability to analyze and evaluate situations or issues in order to form a judgement. In order to be a critical thinker, one must be willing to ask questions in order to seek answers.

My blind spot result also stated that I “sometimes fail to be accountable to those who depend on me” and that I “tend to rely too much on the virtues associated with lead roles”. I can actually agree with this feedback due to the in-depth explanation. Sometimes I can be such a people-pleaser, that I forget that I’m only human. My preferred ethical lens from the activity, were both results and reputation. I listen to my intuition to determine the greatest good for each individual, along with the character traits and virtues that will best serve the community.
When it comes to decision making, I try to make the best decision that will benefit everyone – including myself. I am what some people might call a “people-pleaser”, but I’m the type to think of those who are involved. I know for a fact that the decisions I make will not please everyone. I’m a critical thinker – who just to happen to be a caring person – so I like to put everyone’s perspective into consideration. As I reflect on the Ethical Lens Inventory activity, I now realize that I’m a compassionate person. I usually put myself in the other person’s shoes before I make a decision – if it involves others. As for personal decisions, I tend to make the most logical decision based on my core values – after weighing the pros and the cons.
Ethics play an important role in how we govern ourselves and our environment. We acknowledge and share our personal values with those closest to us.
