Part 1: In this critical thinking assignment, I am selecting Islam as my worldview. Using outside sources and course content, I will answer how the worldview of Islam would answer five questions.
Question of Origin – Muslims are Monotheists. Muslims do not believe that God has any equals. They do not believe that God is a father (has any children), and that the Trinity is blasphemy to them.
Question of Identity – Adam and Eve in Islam were created by Allah. Islam seems to hold a slight view of theistic evolution when it comes to creation. When it comes to the issue of creation, it is believed that man and woman were created by both Allah and evolution.
Question of Meaning/ Purpose – Muslims in Islam believe that the meaning and purpose of ...view middle of the document...
If a Muslims good works outweigh the bad he will go to Paradise. A person definitely goes to Hell if they do not believe that Allah is one.
Part two: In the second part I will compare and contrast the worldview of Islam to a Biblical/ Christian worldview. Let us remember that in the book written by Ken Hemphill, Hemphill stated that “A worldview is our underlying philosophy of life”.
Question of Origin – This answer starts with God. Genesis 1:1 states that God created the heavens and the earth. This answer is also backed up in Psalm 139:13-16.
Question of Identity – God created us lower than angels but higher than animals. We were created by God from the dust of the ground and God breathed His breath into us.
Question of Meaning/ Purpose – We are here to worship God. This is backed up by Deuteronomy 11:13 and John 17:3. I would also say that we as Christians are here to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ our Lord and savior.
Question of Morality – Basically this is the question of right and wrong. The Ten Commandments God gave Moses on the mountain are to always be followed. We should love the Lord our God, and love our neighbors as ourselves. The gift of the Holy Ghost was given to help us with issues of morality and ethics.
Question of Destiny – Where will we spend our eternity, Heaven or Hell? Our worldview will impact our daily lives and how and where we spend our eternity. If any of you my classmates have not confessed and asked Jesus to be your Lord and savior, I ask and pray that you do not wait any longer. For further reading I will suggest the Islamic Antichrist: the Shocking Truth about the Real Nature of the Beast by Joel Richardson. Islam is soon to be the largest religion and I believe that Christian missions is and will be critical in witnessing to Muslims in Islam.
