The history of the United States has derived from several major events. These events helped to define the development of the United States as well as expansion in political, social, and economical ways. This era helped American improve their way of life by establishing a government that would work for the people and ensure that the equal right that were fought for in the civil war, was being upheld.

Following the reconstruction era in the U.S., the Great Depression would be the next great expansion. The Great depression would shake the economical threshold of the U.S. and also affects other countries outside of the U.S. The Great Depression was a result of the stock market crashing in 1929. As a result of this event, lots of things happened such as the rise of unemployment rate, lots of industry’s closed down due to lack of work, and of course sales of automobiles and homes declined due to lack of revenue from loss of jobs. The Great Depression lasted for approximately a decade and cause disparity for most people regardless of social, political, and or economic status. As a result of this tragic event, programs were developed such as Unemployment Insurance, to ensure the U.S. would never encounter this problem again.
