Importance of Corporate Social Responsibility and Ethics in an Organisation.

Ethic:

Ethic is said to be the main basis of good business behaviour. It applies to either the operational area of the organisation or the boardroom. On the other hand, ethics is doing what is right

There has been no definite definition of CSR, so, the theory, development and measurement has been difficult. CSR is the activity that an organisation or corporation can do to ensure that they have a duty or care to their stakeholder. Another thing that has made more organisations socially responsible or more conscious of their activities is the presence of the media.

Primark

Primark is a clothing store that has about 200 stores in Europe, Primark wants to gets it product to the consumers at affordable price, in other for Primark to achieve this, it will have to outsource labour from a cheaper source, since it is a clothing business, it will need to consider how close the raw material will be to the manufacturer's place. The best place to consider in terms of cheap labour and nearness to nearness to manufacturing will be China or India.
so that it can deliver it purpose. As part of Primark commitments, it promises to act ethically, promise to deliver the best value for their customers but not at the expense of their manufacturer. In saying this, Primark has promised that it will be ethically all through it production process. This is to say that all employees in the supply chain will be treated well.
Since every business main aim is to maximize profit and be sustainable over a long period of time. Primark has decided to be ethical by training its suppliers and manufacturers on ethical issue and how it can affect the business.
Primark has made it ethical issue transparent by allowing other people to see and know how their resources and production are done without the use of child labour and the employees get a fair wage.
When a business is transparent, this will let people know that they are ethical and therefore increases their sustainability. As more people are willing to buy from organisations that are ethical. Web 1

ANGLO AMERICA

Anglo America is a mining company. They try to be socially responsible for the environment that they work in.
Anglo America ensures that they
• bring noise to a minimal and reduce the level of pollution in that area.
• Minimal harm to the landscape after mining has finished
• they try to improve the skills and opportunities of the local people.
Anglo America helps local farmers and businesses they also contribute to school programs, health and education in the areas where they work.
The importance of being socially responsible is that, the organisation will win the trust of the people. They can also gain respect from the government of the country that they are working. Anglo American ensures that its social and investment programmes are in accord to its strategic objective of being a good citizen.
Today, Anglo America has a good reputation because they are socially responsible in places where they have worked. (web 2)
