Basketball is becoming one of the most popular sports in the world today. The sport is gaining more global attention daily and the fan base if growing steadily. With the popularity of the sport at an all time high, the athletes in the sport who play at all levels from little leagues to professional are being forced to become better athletes just to compete. The best athlete to ever play the sport was undoubtedly Michael Jordan, but many other players have grown to play at his level and engineering the new generation of the sport by performing at super-high levels of competition. Kobe was on a team with Shaquille O’Neal who was the largest, and nearly the most unstoppable force of basketball during the time of their championship run. So that fact shows little to his prowess or claim as the best. During their three peat champion ship run, Kobe Bryant didn’t even when the MVP award of the finals, so this proves, that even though he played a valuable role, he wasn’t even the best player on his team at that time. Now when it comes to the case of LeBron, there has never been a question, since he stepped into the professional ranks, whether he is the best and most valuable player on his team. He stepped in at the age of 18 and did phenomenal things that even Kobe Bryant didn’t do from the start of his career.
Now even though Kobe Bryant has been in the league longer than LeBron, LeBron has performed at a similar level even though the lack of experience. Now on the performance end Kobe Bryant and LeBron James are very similar to each other. Kobe is capable of shooting better and can nearly guard any player on the perimeter. LeBron is better and taking players off the drive to the whole and scoring. They are both nearly unstoppable offensive forces. There is no way or no player to guard either player. It is often said that LeBron’s weakness is that he cannot shoot well, but that can’t be considered a weakness because he still is able to do what shooting is for, and that is score well. Trying to say LeBron can’t shoot is a bad thing is just like saying because Shaq can’t shoot he is a bad player. LeBron James doesn’t have to shoot as frequently because he doesn’t need to shoot to score just as much if not more than Kobe.
