In this essay I will be comparing the similarities and differences between Burger King and Dairy Queen. I will be covering the two restaurants styles, food types, what they are known for, and information about their establishment. I will be providing accurate and interesting facts about the two restaurants. I will also be providing information about each restaurant before I compare the two differences and similarities. Dairy Queen and Burger King have many similarities with a few differences in restaurant styles, their menu, and how they are run.

Burger King have over 30,300 employees. That is including employees who work in company owned restaurants, field management offices, and at the Global Headquarters.
Dairy Queen opened up in Joiliet, Illinois in 1940. Dairy Queen served a "soft, frozen dairy product." Dairy Queen started off selling various kinds of ice cream and other kind of cold treats. There are nearly 6,000 Dairy Queen stores in the United States, Canada, and in twenty other foreign countries. Each Dairy Queen is independently owned and operated. Individual owners decide their own menu items, business hours, etc.. Dairy Queen is still one of the most popular treats in America. Dairy Queen have helped the non profit Children's Miracle Network(CMN) since 1984. Dairy Queen have donated over $44 million to the network.
Burger King introduced the Whopper in 1957. The original price was $0.37. Burger King was able to take a few sales away from other restaurants. Burger King have their regular menu but they also offer regional items as well. For example, in Texas you can find Whoppers served with mustard, or you can find breakfast burritos in the Southwest.
In 1949, 1957, and 1955 Dairy Queen added Malts, milkshakes, banana splits, and Dilly Bars were added to their menu. Dairy Queen menu expanded considerably over the years. The menu now includes items like Mr. Misty Slush Treat, The Buster Bar, Hot Fudge Brownie Delight, Peanut Buster Parfait, Blizzards, Moo Latte Beverages, waffle bowls, ice cream cones, and different kinds of sundaes. You can also buy frozen DQ Cakes at Dairy Queen. You can also order fried foods such as chicken strip baskets, grill burgers, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, and hot dogs or Treatzza Pizza. You can also get chili dogs and chili cheese fries if you want.
Dairy Queen is known more for their shakes than they are known for their food. Burger King is known for there Whoppers even though they sell other types of food, ice cream, and smoothies.
