Comparative Religion Final Exam

3. Compare the ways that Eastern and Western religions deal with the animal world.  To what extent do these practices reflect a respect for life?
Western revealed religions, such as Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, human nature has a set of external checks and balances. Eastern religions, such as Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism, more focus on improving the self-cultivation.

And people in western religions all believe there is Judgment Day, so they just follow the God rule, and never do bad things let them go to the hell.
But all these religions are teaching people how to be good, let people to be more compassionate, more considerate of others, and greater harmony between people. And all these religions make the nature balance.
So, I believe, the West “objects of study” with the East “science of life” might be the direction of the human beings’ future. Christian believes that women are important in both family life and social activities. Christianity does a good job in the women status promoting.
Buddhism Promote the gender issue equality. Between several major religions in the world, the Buddha first established the female monks missions to accept women to join them to do the self-cultivation, let all women enjoy this religion, let them know which is the right to life and liberation. The core idea of Buddhism is all beings have Buddha nature, all living beings in the future will become a Buddha; do not underestimate any sentient being. The gender issue differences are minor, but the consciousness is the main thing. “Nirvana” saying: “If not knowing the Buddha, and I called woman, if knowing there is Buddha nature, and I called a real man; if women set their own Buddha nature, which is the man known to be so.” So the perfect moral need to get over the gender issue, beyond the relative.
