Anthony's characters are very unique and have diverse personalities. His sequence of psychological books "Tales of Immortality" has a different mythological personality as the main character. "On a Pale Horse" tells of how a young man, wanting to commit suicide, accidentally shoots Death. He then has to take up the position as the Grim Reaper.
