Communism versus Capitalism
A capitalist government is better than a communist government for many reasons. The basic concepts of communism and capitalism contrast quite sharply. In communism, everyone is equal; therefore everyone receives the same amount of income. Communist societies are made up of one large state instead of many different states. All means of production and property are owned by the large state. The basic concepts of capitalism are quite different. There are many social classes, therefore not everyone is equal. People earn different amounts of income based on their job. People are allowed to own land and the means of production are not controlled by the government. Companies are able to raise or lower prices of items depending on whether they are high in demand as well.
Communist societies have many strengths. They have a very strong army, ...view middle of the document...
People can think what they want to think instead of being forced to view things in one perspective by the government. You are also not controlled by the government in capitalism, so you have civil rights and are able to follow any religion you would like.
Although communist societies have many strengths, they also have some weaknesses. People are not allowed to make decisions for themselves because decisions are made by the government. People do not have any civil rights such as having the right to vote or speak out. Most people in communist societies have poor living conditions. All of the wealth and power in communism is in the government’s hands. Religion is not allowed and people are very often put in jail for small mistakes. There is also no incentive to work harder because everyone receives the same amount of income. Capitalist societies have some weaknesses as well. Many people are in poverty and are on welfare. People aren’t as afraid of breaking the law as in communism because they will most likely not be punished as severely. The government is not able to make company changes that will able to benefit the company. Because there is more production in capitalist societies, there is more pollution.
Communism is located in places such as China, Cuba, North Korea, Russia, Laos, and Vietnam, while capitalism is located in places such as the United States, Japan, Germany, Canada, Sweden, and many other locations as well. Capitalism pushes people to excel in their work because they can get paid more to work harder unlike communism in which there is no point in working harder because everyone is paid equally. You are also allowed to think what you think and have freedom of choice in capitalism, while in communism, the government makes decisions for you and you don’t have any civil rights. Capitalist countries produce a larger amount of merchandise so there are more choices. Capitalist countries produce a larger amount of merchandise so there are more choices. All of these factors show why capitalist governments are better than communist governments.
