Communication and Collaboration Strategies
Knowing one’s learning styles and personality type will have a major effect on the success of being able to succeed in school. There are different and they are unique just as everyone one of us. Groups allow us to attain potential that we wouldn’t be able to on our own, knowing how to communicate is especially important to avoid team conflicts. Being able to identify the two of these one can begin effectively to choose learning strategies and learning goals.

For the musical intelligence, it is important for them to take music breaks and put rhythm into words. For the logical intelligence, they can explain material sequentially to the group. Last for the interpersonal intelligence, they can bring the group together by teaching and cooperating.
Another important aspect of effective teams is the ability for each member to know their personality. The most widely used assessment is the Myers-Briggs type. The Personality Spectrum assessment simplifies this material into four personality types, Thinker, Organizer, Giver, and Adventurer (Carter et al., 2007, p. 6). The Thinker is able to solve problems and explore ideas and potentials. The Organizer can operate successfully within a social structure and has attention to detail. The Giver is honest and has successful close relationships.
These personality types are able to bring many important aspects for effective collaboration within a team. Being able to design new ways of approaching issues and converting material into logical charts is for the thinker. The organizer can plan out schedules and dates and have tasks defined so the team knows what is required. The giver is able to put energy into the relationships and seeks out tasks, groups, and subjects that involve helping people.
The importance of diversity in a team environment is of great importance for the success of the team, even more importantly is being able to effectively communicate amongst the team. Without effective communication there will be frustration and lack of willingness to actually do the work as a team. With communication and collaboration the team will be a winning success.
