Many say that receiving ascholarship for their education is enough, and education is a greatgift to the students. Those people just don’t understand whatthe student is going through and how much dedication it really takesto focus on the sport. Most coaches in college will say that you mustlook at your sport like it is your profession, if we look and playlike it is our profession then why aren’t we being paid or compensatedfor it? What is the point of looking at it as your profession if itdoesn’t feel like it is?College athlete should receive some form of payment for theuniversities they attend or from the NCAA itself. College athletes arehumans just like every other student. By denying them the ability tomake money and not paying them is harsh. The NCAA and its members areexpecting the athletes to live a sub-human existence, and putting themat a disadvantage to finish their college education. Many argue thatthe system is fine just the way it is, but they are not fullyconsidering the needs of the student athlete. College athletes makeenough money for universities that it would not hurt to give someback. I predict that college student will eventually receive some formof compensation from the universities they attend to or the NCAAitself. College sports will always be a big money maker for big timeuniversities and colleges. They should take better care of theirathletes by paying them for their services.
