The illegal narcotic drug problem in the United States is a growing problem and is
On the rise. This problem is growing at a rapid pace, but, the fastest and one of the
Deadliest drug problems in the United States is doctor shopping, which not only affects
The young addict, but also the senior citizen as well. This is the fastest growing problem
In the United States and is at the top of every state’s agenda and even the federal

These patients can go to as many doctors as he or she wants to and it will not cost them one cent.

One of the popular health care abuses lately is doctor shopping. Doctor shopping consists of people making numerous appointments with several medical doctors in hopes of collecting prescriptions, which he or she can use to get high or sell on the streets. If people do not work with modern technology, he or she may not realize that once his or her name goes into a database at a pharmacy, then pharmacists at different stores can see how often he or she has filled a narcotic prescription. The doctors who have prescribed these narcotics are alerted and that there may be a potential fraudulent situation going on.

An article on the timesfreepress.com website states that “a Tennessee law passed last year makes doctor shopping by people on Tenn. Care a felony punishable by two years in Prison. A broader statute aimed at abuse of private insurance plans is being considered
