CLUB IT PART I
Even though there are many clubs that offer the same services, the popularity of Club IT will blossom if the management can improve their operational effectiveness. Improving the operational effectiveness will keep the customers happy, keep them coming back, and this will cause the popularity to soar with new customers. “Operational excellence remains a greater imperative than most companies and most executives acknowledge” (Tyndall 1998). The computer is at least five years old and does not have the programs needed to support their business. One of the best ways to improve the operational effectiveness will be to replace the outdated computer and install software to support a small business. Club IT is a relatively small business with only nineteen employees so paychex payroll solutions would be ideal for their payroll needs. Optimum HR will be an excellent tool to manage the personnel and future employees. Optimum HR can format personnel reports to meet the needs of the management. Optimum HR can also maintain employee data that is needed by the employer. Club IT maintains a fairly small inventory of drinks, food and cleaning supplies so Microsoft Excel can be used to maintain and update the inventory. Club It is currently using Covera Card Solutions to conduct debit, credit card and ATM transactions for the club. This system is secure and reliable for handling all of Club IT’s needs. Club IT is located next to a bank so customers can utilize their ATM if they choose to use cash for their purchase.
A business analyst will visit Club IT to analyze their processes during a normal day’s operation. The analyst will measure different aspects of Club IT’s normal business processes and recommend process improvement. An analyst will point out small processes that have room for improvement. Club IT will be given recommendations for improving these processes and again watch them in action. Small changes to a process can have large results in time and satisfaction of the customer. A very successful businessman once said “Do what you do so well that they will want to see it again and bring their friends” (Disney, unknown).
All of Club IT employees will receive additional training in customer service to include areas that are in need of process improvement. ...
