Club It, Part One
I recently was hired to analyze Club It’s information management needs. I met with Ruben Keys and Lisa Tejada the club owners on a Monday afternoon after spending the Friday night before with some friends at Club It. I was pleasantly surprised at the professionalism and first class nature of the club. Although the club had a good crowd I could see where several strategies could be put into place to attract more clients. Club It like any other business should know the informational technology resources available to them in order to become an efficient and very successful organization. Since Club IT is relatively unknown and its advertising budget is small, we agreed that internet marketing maybe an option to pursue. To be effective a computer upgrade would be required as well as software upgrades. Since we would be upgrading their system I pointed out it may be a great time to utilize the system to encompass the entire business by storing all employee information and payroll. We can also control inventory and ordering which will make it easier to expand and offer more variety. A new system will even make it easy to track customers and be used to confirm identity for entrance into the club if membership is something Rueben and Lisa may want to offer.
Customer –orientation strategy as primary tool to benefit Club It
This strategy is an ideal tool for Club It and Fits right into the mission statement the owners have developed. This strategy focuses on making customers happy which is what Club It is attempting to accomplish. Since a new system will be in place a web base system would be effective because it can provide a personalized, one to one relationship with each customer (Rainer & Turban, 2009). With this web base system the club could have an email submission box on their website.
