LAB CISCO 9.6.2
1. What you did / What was the purpose?
For this lab, it is basically about configuring EIGRP to the router, what i did is assigned the ip address to the host, router and the loopback (LO),for EIGRP it means enhanced interior gateway routing protocol. This EIGRP allowed routers change information more efficient. I also had configure the VLSM for the network. From my understanding the purpose of doing the VLSM is because by creating it together in sequence block of address to specific areas of the network can easily summarized the network and keep routes update with a routing protocol to the most minimum. 2. What difficulties you faced / How you overcame them
For every lab of course to calculate the ip,the subnetting,it is very difficult for me to understand between the private ip and public ip which is the most important thing to know when to do subnetting,not the topology of the network,i refer to the video provided by the cisco.
3. How you tested your lab
I tested the outcome using the packet tracer. By construct the same topology shown in the lab,I had assigned the same ip address that i had count and test the connection.
4. What you learned?
I learned the new command to enable EIGRP, and at the same time configuring the right connected network to the routing updates. And another one is the updating the EIGRP update on the interface. The needs of EIGRP is to make sure that the router keeps copy the information of the neighbor. The information here is the routing table. If it cannot find the route to a destination in one of the tables ,it queries its neighbors for a route and they in turn query their neighbors until a route is found. When a routing table changes it routes it will notify the changes to its neighbors, this EIGRP use the DUAL algorithm, dual means diffusing update algorithm, it used to determine the most efficient route to the destination ,here the meaning of efficient route is the shortest path or the least cost to get to the destination. From this lab, I learned that the EIGRP support the VLSM, this is important because it allows for the conservation of the address space through the use of subnet mask that most closely fits the host requirement or the host needed. I also learned the meaning of the loopback, loopback is the invisible router, which means the router actually does not exist, it just need to configure the router.
