Christianity Essay

The religion my group is covering is Christianity. Christianity is one of the biggest and widest spread religions in the world. It was founded by Jesus Christ and his 12 Apostles. Jesus taught his Apostles the word of God and spread the belief that he was the messiah by performing miracles such as healing the sick, feeding thousands with only enough food for one person, and expelling demons from the souls of people he encountered. After Jesus had many followers, people started to worry about the change in the community and the Romans didn’t want to think about what might happen if people started changing their ways so they sentenced Jesus to death.  These sins are pretty much unforgivable and can result in a very bad afterlife; the sins include pride, envy, gluttony, lust, sloth, wrath, and greed. A Christian will avoid sin as much as possible but should never commit one of the seven deadly sins.
 
       Most Christians have certain things that they do on a regular basis. Praying is a very big part of every Christian’s life. People pray about everything from having a good day to curing a sickness. Sometimes after people pray miraculous recoveries happen to the person that was prayed about so it seems God truly does listen to prayers and heal those who deserve it. Another important thing Christians do regularly is go to church. Church is a place where you can gather with other people and praise God for everything he has done for us. Church is also the place where baptized and become saved as Christians. Church is a place where you can also learn stuff from the Bible in ways that you can clearly understand because the pastor will explain the section you are talking about.
 
        One of the most important things for every Christian to have the Bible. The Bible is the book that passes along the teachings of Jesus and other religious stories that have a strong background in Christian history. The Bible is split into two sections, the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament was the history of the Jews and the original commandments of God. The New Testament covers the life of Jesus. It has his teachings that he did throughout his life and the commandments that he set up. The Bible is what every Christian learns out of to know what happened in the past and how they should o should not act as Christians.
