How deep are your Roots in Christ Love.
Be rooted, grounded and established in the word of God is our theme for the church. Since the beginning of the year, as a church we have taken time to understand what it means to be rooted, grounded and enlightened in the word of God. The women ministry/Joy fellowship have also derived their theme for their celebration week to go deeper into the theme and take time to examine ourselves how deep are our roots in Christ Love based on Ephesians 3: 17.
Paul was praying for the church of Ephesus, that Christ may dwell in their hearts and that they may be rooted in Christ Love.
He also prayed for them further, (Vs 18-19) that they may be ...view middle of the document...
Width - Christ Love is Wide Enough to include Every Person
Love is caring in action, love is what we do and not what we feel. If we are able to comprehend how much Christ loved all of us, then we can be able to love all kinds of people that we will meet in our lives. Ephesians 3: 6. This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus. The work of the cross unifies all of us. Christ was not selfish, he died for all of us . John 3: 16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life". God was not selfish, he gave all he had for us and for all mankind,
1 Corinthians 13: 5..."Love does not seek its own"
Just like Christ loved us, we too ought to love one another. In our walk with God, we will meet people from all walks of life. It is our responsibility to love everybody just like Christ loved us. We may not like what everybody does, but just as Christ did we should be able to hate the sin and not the person. Christ was able to mix with sinners, and as result he was able to win them for himself. Our actions should speak louder in our communities, work place and in our churches. Jesus told his disciples, that he has given them a new commandment; John 13: 34-35; A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35“By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
As we study the word of God, the word of God teaches us how we ought to love others. Our roots will grow deeper and will be established as Christians. We cannot come to a total rest in Gods care unless we are at peace with everybody. A wise man once said that " no man is an island". We need each other lets show love to another this year.
2. Length - Christ's love is long enough to last us through Eternity .
Jeremiah 31: 3. The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness. Psalm 136:1 " Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good. His love endures forever".
As long as we abide in Christ, his love will never leave us, he has said in his word that he will never leave us nor forsake us. The love that he has is everlasting, it is from generation to generation.
The blessed assurance that we have in Christ Jesus. Paul was encouraging the church of Ephesus, that these kind of love is beyond knowledge, it is a conviction that has to sink deep inside us, that gives us the confidence to face every challenge knowing that Christ will always be there for us.
1st Corinthians 13: 8 "Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
Our love for one another should not...
